Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern the lead in the opening minutes with an own-goal from Maximilian Wober giving the hosts a second before halftime.
Mergim Berisha gave the visiting side a consolation in the second half, whilst Bayern had Marc Roca dismissed on 66 minutes before Leroy Sane added a third later on.

A first-half finish from Zaidu Sanusi was followed by a penalty late in the second half from Sergio Oliveira while the Portuguese side had Marko Grujic dismissed a little later.

Ryan Gravenberch netted the opener after halftime before Noussair Mazraoui and David Neres got the second and third goals respectively.
Midtjylland got a consolation right before the end of the match through Awer Mabil, whilst seeing Erik Sviatchenko dismissed at the death.
