City have put one foot in the UEFA Champions League final after claiming a 2-1 victory over PSG in the first leg of their semi-final clash on Wednesday night.
Les Parisiens were slight favourites heading into the match, and it appeared as though they would live up to that tag after captain Marquinhos rose highest to head home the game's opening goal in the 15th minute.
However, City looked like a different team in the second half and took advantage of the tie after De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both found the back of the net to give Guardiola's side two priceless away goals heading into the return leg.
After the match, the Belgian midfielder revealed what instruction his boss had given the team to inspire the remarkable turnaround from the Premier League's champions-elect.
"[He told us to] just play a little bit more with the ball," De Bruyne told BT Sport. "The first half, we were a bit too rushed, trying to go forward too quickly and that's not the way we are set up as a team.
"In the second half, we tried to find space more patiently. They're a tough team to play against. The progression we made as a team was good."
The second leg will take place at the Etihad Stadium next week Tuesday, when City will look to secure their first-ever appearance in the Champions League final.
