Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon likens Cristiano Ronaldo to Pele and Diego Maradona

Ronaldo, 33, scored for the ninth time against the legendary Italian goalkeeper in just ten shots, a remarkable feat against the decorated shot-stopper, who's widely considered as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

His brace in the 3-0 first leg victory at the Juventus Stadium, which included a spectacular bicycle kick also marked a record for scoring in ten consecutive Champions League games.

"Ronaldo is a champion at an extraordinary level. Together with Messi, he is the only player that can create the most important victories for his team. He can be compared to Maradona and Pele," he said after the game, as quoted by AS.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has now scored 39 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions this season.
