Serie A match report Lecce v Juventus

The Bianconeri rested Ronaldo from their hard fought 2-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow in the UEFA Champions League Group D in midweek, with match winner Paulo Dybala starting instead.

The first half provided little threats from either side as both sets of defences put on a strong face to hold their balance in the overall contest.

Juve were ahead when the Video Assistant Referee overturned a decision for a free-kick to award a penalty instead after Miralem Pjanic went down in the area on 50 minutes, with Dybala converting.

The hosts replied within five minutes when Marco Mancosu beat Wojciech Szczesny from the spot after Matthijs de Ligt handled in the area.

Juve had the chance to go back ahead in the final 30 minutes, but Federico Bernardeschi cracked the post after being sent through by Alex Sandro.

Gonzalo Higuain almost stole victory at the death when he broke into the channels from a tight angle, but Gabriel pulled off a sharp save.

The spoils were shared in the end, as Juve's seven match winning run across all competitions comes to an end.
