Antony 'set' for Manchester return

Manchester United winger Antony has now reportedly returned to England amid accusations of domestic violence.

Last month, the Brazil international agreed with United to take a leave of absence while police in both his home nation and the UK investigate allegations of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavalin.

With the authorities in Brazil having reportedly confirmed they do not require any further information from him, the winger was spotted at Sao Paulo airport on Tuesday night, readying himself for a return to Manchester, where he is set to face police and deny all claims made against him.

"Antony is adamant he has done nothing wrong and wants to sit down with officers and let them ask him questions," a source told The Sun.

"He has nothing to hide and will hand over anything they want to see, including his mobile phone.

"He wants to be exonerated as quickly as possible so he can get on with his football career again without any distractions."

Along with Cavalin, two other women, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have also come forward to accuse the Red Devils player of similar offences, although it is believed the former has recanted her abuse claim.

Antony has maintained his innocence throughout, and even appeared on Brazilian television to defend himself, saying that he is "100% sure" that he never touched a woman in an abusive manner.
