Paris Saint-Germain: Angel Di Maria's bold claim about Lionel Messi & Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria has made a bold claim about teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The Argentina captain has played 303 minutes of Ligue 1 football for his new club so far, per The Sun, but is yet to find the back of the net for the Parisians in the league, while he, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Di Maria are still seemingly becoming accustomed to playing with each other.

In September, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino brushed off concerns about the misfiring quartet by insisting that his side "still have to create a team", hinting that the understanding between the players was not quite there yet.

Despite the front four not being prolific so far in this campaign, the club is comfortably first in both Ligue 1 and their UEFA Championship League group.

In a recent interview, Di Maria admitted that his team's attack has not been as strong as it should be, but backed fellow South Americans Messi and Neymar to turn their stuttering form around.

"With [Messi's] arrival, it's harder to find that cohesion," the Argentine told Telefoot

"Things are not clear yet, but they will become so. Neymar is an immense player – bit by bit he will return to a top level.

"Competition [for places at PSG] is difficult.

"When you have those three players in front of you, you have to work, and do as well as possible in order to play. And then it's the manager who decides."

Di Maria  was also asked if he believes the Neymar-Mbappe-Messi trio can work to its full potential.

"Yes. These are three exceptional players," the former Real Madrid star replied, per Ligue 1's official website.

"There are two who continue to grow and will try to win the Ballon d'Or in the future, and the other is the greatest."
