Argentina captain Lionel Messi has finally lifted the lid on his relationship with Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe since their dramatic meeting in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.
The two players have enjoyed impressive domestic seasons both before and after the World Cup, while they also both dazzled at the global showpiece itself and were undeniably the standout stars at the event.

Mbappe won the Golden Boot in Qatar, while Messi won the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament, with the 35-year-old becoming the first men's footballer ever to win it twice in the competition's history, according to FIFA.
It was the Albiceleste skipper who was triumphant for the biggest prize, the World Cup trophy itself, and after his side's victory, many of his teammates conducted themselves in a controversial manner, with some of them mocking Mbappe for being on the losing France side.
The 24-year-old later admitted he will never forget the feeling of losing that final, but also insisted he was not bothered by Argentina's antics during the final and after the tournament.
Many believed the aftermath of the World Cup final could create tension between the two stars at PSG.
That does not appear to be the case, though, with Messi having recently opened up on their relationship since the final.

Asked by Argentine outlet Ole if he has discussed the Qatar final with Mbappe, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner said: "Yes, we talked about the game, the celebrations, how people had lived in Argentina in those days that I had been on vacation and the festivities we had. And nothing, nothing more, but good, really good.
"I was on the other side too, I had to lose a world final as well and I didn't want to know anything about that, about what had happened.
"And nothing that had to do with the World Cup at that time, that's why I don't want to talk about it either.
"But the truth is that there is no problem with Kylian, quite the opposite."
