FC Barcelona registered a third successive win in LaLiga with a 3-0 victory over Sevilla on Saturday evening.
Unsurprisingly the Catalans had no changes from the eleven that crushed Real Valladolid last Sunday, as former Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic captained the home team.
However, Sevilla started the brightest and could've gone ahead off a goal-mouth scramble following a cleverly clipped pass outside the area but it was cleared off the line.
Barcelona did found courage following the uncomfortable start and were ahead when Raphinha pounced on a rebounded effort by Robert Lewandowski and finished easily.
The Blaugrana added a second in the remaining ten minutes of the first half as Lewandowski brought down a teasing ball from Jules Kounde and volleyed home superbly.
It was all too easy for the Catalans at this point with forward passes by Raphinha, Gavi and Ousmane Dembele causing a lot of discomfort for Julen Lopetegui's men.
With Thomas Delaney and Jose Angel on for Sevilla, the Catalans extended their lead on 50 minutes as Eric Garcia pounced on a cutback across the area by Kounde and stabbed home.
Sevilla looked for a way back minutes apart and were close through a low flying shot involving Rakitic, but goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen parried the Croatian veteran.
The Catalans responded after a quiet spell and nearly made it four from a lob by Lewandowski which Yassine Bounou parried straight to Frenkie De Jong, who had the follow-up cleared off the line.
No meaningful openings during the remaining stages of the match came from either outfit, as the Catalans managed the tie and bagged their third successive win.

Real Madrid extended their perfect start to the LaLiga campaign with a 2-1 victory over Real Betis on Saturday afternoon.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti made just two changes from the win over Espanyol last week, with Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal replacing Antonio Rudiger and Lucas Vazquez.
Alaba was moved to the full-back position and he created the first goal as he picked out Vinicius Junior with a nice long pass and the Brazilian winger finished with a lovely dink over Rui Silva.
Los Blancos' joy was short-lived as the away side equalised eight minutes later through Sergio Canales' low strike after Borja Iglesias flicked a throw-in into the midfielder's path.
Silva then kept Betis from falling behind once again as he showed great reflexes to keep out Aurélien Tchouaméni's free header at the far post as the hosts upped the tempo.
Alex Moreno nearly completed the turnaround for the visitors 10 minutes into the second half, but Thibaut Courtois was on hand to keep out the full-back powerful strike.
Los Blancos would go on to restore their lead in the 65th minute as Federico Valverde got the byline to pick out Rodrygo, who slotted home for his first goal.
Second-half substitute Joaquin came close to creating the equaliser for Betis 10 minutes later when he picked out Canales, who saw his strike tip around the post by Courtois.
That proved to be the final chance of the second half, as Los Blancos claimed their fourth straight win while Betis suffer their first loss after starting the campaign with three straight wins.
