Real Madrid cemented top spot in LaLiga after defeating Sevilla 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening.
Madrid missed Karim Benzema due to injury days after scoring in the midweek win at Elche but Thibaut Courtois was back in goal after missing El Clasico and the last clash.
It was a perfect start for Los Blancos five minutes in after patient bit of play from Vinicius Junior led to a cross into the box which Luka Modric met and dispatched easily.
Sevilla were all over the place following the opening stages and could've gone two goals from a free-kick by David Alaba, but the effort missed target.
Modric looked for a second goal a little from the half-hour mark when he worked a yard of space outside the area off a short pass by Federico Valverde and curled wide.
With no substitutes made at the break, Sevilla levelled ten minutes into the resumption when Gonzalo Montiel thread a ball through to Erik Lamela to finish from a tight angle.
Sevilla almost went ahead inside a minute after former Real Madrid man Isco attacked a cross into the box from Jesus Navas and headed against the side-netting.
It became an end-to-end battle at the midway stage as Ivan Rakitic set-up Navas for a shot, but the ball rolled away whilst Madrid brought on Eduardo Camavinga for Aurelien Tchouameni.
Madrid restored their lead with ten minutes to go after Vinicius raced towards from a counter-attack and set-up substitute Lucas Vazquez to finish easily.
Los Blancos bagged a third goal in the closing minutes when Valverde brought a clever pass from Marco Asensio under control and fired in the top corner.
The host encountered no late drama and thus stormed to a fourth successive win in the league and also extended their lead at the top of the table.
