Frustrated Xavi slams 'disgraceful' Barca injuries

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez says it's a disgrace that four of his players picked up injuries during the recent international break.

The Catalan giants resume LaLiga action on Saturday night against Real Mallorca, but they will be without a few players.

Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay will be out after picking up injuries while in action for Netherlands, while Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo have also been sidelined.

Araujo, meanwhile, will only return after the World Cup after undergoing surgery for an avulsion muscle injury.

"It frustrates me but I have to think about the positives. We haven't found an explanation, it's multifactorial, and each player is different", Xavi said, according to Marca.

"There needs to be more caution and prevention, so we'll talk to the national teams.

"We don't know if the trips are a problem, the game overload, but no blame is being sought. But, it's still a disgrace, as there's a small plague of injuries."

Xavi will hope to have some of those players back in time for El Clasico, which take place on October 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
