Thembinkosi Lorch was on target as Wydad Casablanca suffered a 4-1 defeat to Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.
The Old Lady were unchanged from the emphatic display over Al Ain, while Cassius Mailula made way for Samuel Obeng on the side of the Moroccan giants after losing to Manchester City.
Juve hit the ground running on five minutes when Kenan Yildiz sneaked in at the near post of the area and bundled in off the outstretched foot of Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
Yildiz wreaked further havoc ten minutes later as he pounced a loose ball on the edge of the six-yard area and riffled in the top-corner.
South African-born Thembinkosi Lorch got a lifeline for the Moroccans a minute to the cooling break when he beat the offside trap to get in-behind and dinked in an empty net.
Wydad continued carving out chances with the minutes to the break ever approaching, but lacked a great deal of accuracy in the offensive third.
Both teams made changes at the break as Obeng made way for Omar Al Somah, whereas the Italian giants removed Weston McKennie to bring on Teun Koopmeiners.
The boys from Serie A looked to extend their lead and closed-in through a smart effort from the area by Andrea Cambiasso, but he nestled the woodwork.
Although, the moments didn’t end where the self-same Cambiasso, Yildiz, Francisco Conceicao and Randal Kolo Muani remained problematic for the North Africans.
Yildiz made matters safe twenty minutes from time when he came in the near side to cut-inside off Boutouil and tucked in the far corner.
Juventus added a fifth in stoppage time as substitute Duasn Vlahovic fired in from the spot having gone down from a challenge.
The victory guided the Italian giants to the knockout stages as their Moroccan counterparts exit the tournament.
