The 2019/20 Premier League stats leaders

With the Premier League making its long-awaited return to action this evening, here is a look at which players come out on top in the statistics columns, including the league's leading goalscorer and worst disciplined players. 

England's top flight resumed on Wednesday night for the first time since the league was suspended in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Prior to the break, no player had found the back of the net more times this season than Jamie Vardy. The Leicester City forward has netted 19 times, two more than Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. 

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has been the league's most creative player, with the Belgian playmaker having recorded 16 assists for the reigning champions before the league was temporarily halted.

At the other end of the pitch, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope has kept the most clean sheets, recording 11 shutouts, while Newcastle United shot-stopper Martin Dubravka has recorded a league-high 117 saves.

Watford players have proved to be the most ill-disciplined, with midfielder Etienne Capoue having committed the most fouls (47) and Christian Kabasele being the only player to have picked up two red cards for the campaign.
