Swansea City returnee Wilfried Bony opens up about frustrating time at Manchester City

The Ivory Coast striker returned to the Liberty Stadium on transfer deadline day for a fee of £12m, more than half the amount that Bony cost City when initially making the move from Wales to the Etihad Stadium in 2015.

Bony endured a tough time at City, managing just 21 Premier League appearances over his two years at the club, although he is hopeful of putting that behind him and focus on the job at hand.

“As a player, yes, of course [it’s disappointing not to play often],” he told French website Foot Mercato.

“Pep Guardiola is one of the best coaches in the world. Playing under him would have been a good thing.

“Both of us have good relationships. As they say, in football everything is possible. The most important thing for me today is to focus on my team, Swansea. I want to give the best of myself.”
