EPL giants 'want' Kompany, Burnley boss reacts!

Following reports suggesting Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is the top target for the hot seat at one of the Premier League's biggest clubs, the former Manchester City star has now reacted to the news.

Earlier this week, it was claimed the Belgian manager is Tottenham Hotspur's ideal candidate to succeed the departed Antonio Conte.

Kompany seemingly entered the fray after initial targets Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique reportedly made it clear they were not interested in the job.

The former Anderlecht centre-back has earned many plaudits since taking charge of Burnley after leading them to Premier League promotion with seven games still to play.

With the Spurs hierarchy said to have been impressed with Burnley's style of play under Kompany, the 37-year-old was asked about the speculation linking him with the London club.

"I don't waste answers on my future," Kompany said in a press conference, per Football London.

"I said it on day one of my job here at Burnley, that one day in anticipation that there might be a question like this, so crack on.

"I am focusing on Reading and the next games."

The manager was then asked if he is happy at Turf Moor, sparking a fiery response.

"I know the question but what can I say?" an exasperated Kompany responded.

"Am I going to say I am not happy?

"We are 14 points clear at the top of the Championship, so we are all right.

"The key part is always be happy, never satisfied."
