Lallana, 29, has been blighted by hamstring injuries this season, making only one start in the Premier League. And in a bid to regain match fitness, the England international was named in an Under-23 fixture, along with fellow first-team player Danny Ings.
However, the former Southampton playmaker uncharacteristically lashed out at teenage Spurs midfielder George Marsh after an aerial challenge. The experienced Lallana inexplicably started choking the midfielder from behind his neck, before Ings intervened.
Sky Sports have now reported that the Reds will not impose any further punishment on the first-team star.
After the game Liverpool U23 manager Neil Critchley reacted to the red card incident via the club's official website; "I have never seen Adam react like that.
"I'd like to see the incident again. It was ironic as we were just about to bring Liam Millar on. He was actually coming off."
Lallana will be in line for a first-team return against his former side when Jurgen Klopp's side take on Saints on Sunday.
