English Premier League match report Burnley v Chelsea

Fikayo Tomori and Kourt Zouma featured alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga in defence, with Christian Pulisic assisting Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham up front.

Chelsea were ahead after 21 minutes when Pulisic dummied into the danger area to fire across Nick Pope and into the bottom corner after picking up a loose ball.

Burnley nearly hit back immediately, but Ashley Barnes couldn't head home Tarkowski's backward cushion five yards from the danger area.

The Blues doubled their advantage on the stroke of halftime as Pulisic grabbed a double when his effort deflected in off the near post past Pope.

Chelsea started a bit slowly at the start of the second, as the home side issued a slight response to the happenings of the first spell.

Pulisic astounding evening upped 12 minutes in when he headed home his first Premier League hat-trick following a pin-point delivery.

Two minutes later, the Blues grabbed a fourth when Willian turned from provider to finish off a well worked move in the area.

Chelsea were nearly handed a penalty in the final minutes when Callum Hudson-Odoi went down under a challenge, but the Video Assistant Referee ruled out the plea.

Burnley halved the deficit five minutes from time when Jay Rodriguez's 30 yard effort swerved over the head of Kepa before trickling into the net.

The hosts were on target again three minutes later after Dwight McNeil came onto his left foot from the right and fired home from 25 yards amidst a deflection from Tomori.

There was no frantic finish at the end, as Frank Lampard win four successive games league for the first time in his managerial career.
