And while the Red Devils are expected to come back in for the France international in January, compatriot Lacazette hopes to bend his ear towards a deal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Arsenal striker said: “Yeah [Griezmann is my friend], we are very good friends and have lots of fun. Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I’m going to ask him to sign for Arsenal.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may already be plotting his own bid to sign Griezmann, with Alexis Sanchez expected to depart the north London giants either in January or when his contract expires next year July.
