The top 10 sides in Africa have officially been revealed after the latest round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with Bafana Bafana just making the cut.
Matchday three and four of CAF qualification for the next World Cup took place earlier this month and has resulted in a reshuffling in the latest FIFA rankings, which has seen teams such as Morocco, Egypt and Ivory Coast climb up, while Senegal and Nigeria saw a decrease in their ranks.

The Atlas Lions currently sit in 12th place overall, moving up from 13th spot to keep their spot as the highest-ranked African side in the world.
Behind them in 18th place overall is Senegal, while Egypt are in 36th, completing the top three on the continent, according to FIFA's latest ratings.
South Africa maintained their spot at 59 after their 1-1 draw with Nigeria and 3-1 win over Zimbabwe since the last ratings were released by world football's governing body.

Overall, the top three teams in the world are first-placed 2022 World Cup winners Argentina, France in second and Belgium in third spot.
Behind them are Brazil in fourth, with England and Portugal occupying fifth and sixth, respectively.
