Kenya now sit at the summit of Group A with seven points from three matches. They are set to face Zambia on Sunday in a crucial fixture that could see them advance to the quarterfinals.
In a show of support and motivation ahead of the upcoming clash, President Ruto has promised each player a substantial bonus of Ksh2.5 million (approximately R345,000) if they defeat Zambia.
This new pledge is double the amount he had previously offered before the team's win over Morocco, when he promised Ksh1 million (approximately R138,000) per player.
"Now, heading to Sunday (against Zambia), I want us to have a new deal. On Sunday, it will be a very different package. If we manage to win on Sunday, every player will pocket Ksh2.5million, and it means if we win we qualify for quarters," Ruto said per Flashscore.
"In the quarters, if we win the game and reach the semis, on top of Ksh1million, I will add what you have been asking me, a two-bedroomed affordable housing unit in a location of your choice. I hope it is very clear, I want us to read on the same page.

"If we go past the semi-finals, I will upgrade the affordable house from two bedrooms to three bedrooms. If we reach the final, I don’t want to reveal what I will offer here. I will come back and we sit down.
"If we win the trophy, then we will have to meet again, sit down and agree, but by then every one of you will already have a three bedroomed house by the time you reach the final."
