The Spanish tactician now takes the helm of Egypt’s most decorated club at an exciting moment, as they gear up for the Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States between June and July.
Al Ahly have been drawn into Group A alongside America's Inter Miami, Palmeiras of Brazil, and FC Porto from Portugal.
Former Al Ahly defender Khaled Gadallah has expressed confidence in Riveiro’s ability to guide the team to success, highlighting the squad's depth and overall quality as crucial factors.
Gadallah is said to believe that the 49-year-old coach is well-equipped to lead the team to the advanced stages of the Club World Cup.
"Rivero took over the leadership of Al-Ahly Club during a very special period in the team, which includes the best players in the African continent," Gadallah said, per Al-Masry Al-Youm.
