Egypt have provided an update on Mohamed Salah, who picked up an injury in the draw with Ghana earlier this week.
The Liverpool star limped off just before the halftime break on Thursday evening, which could have spelled bad news for both country and club.

The Egyptian Football Association released a statement on Friday night claiming the injury was not severe.
"Mohamed Salah has suffered a strain in his hamstring muscle and will miss two matches at the Africa Cup of Nations," a statement released on the Egyptian Federation's social handles began.
"The x-rays that Egyptian national team captain Salah underwent showed that he suffered a strain in the posterior muscle, and he will miss the team's next two matches at the AFCON -- against Cape Verde, and then the Round of 16 match in the event of qualification."
Meanwhile, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp says that it is rare for the Egyptian forward to go off injured.
"At that moment he was shocked and couldn't see why he was hit by something so intense," Klopp told reporters, as per Goal.
"You have these hamstring injuries in a different way. He felt it and we know how rarely Mo goes off, or needs to go off, so it is definitely something, but I don't have any more information right now."
