Sammy Troughton confirms Free State Stars exit in wake of draw with Bidvest Wits

"Yes, we parted ways," Troughton tells this website.

"We just agreed that it was not working out. Maybe I was working until they get Luc Eymael or somebody, I don't know. Look I was not happy with certain situations. We agreed to part ways and shake hands."

He adds: "In the two months I stayed with Free State Stars I learnt a few things, not only about football but also about people."

The former University of Pretoria mentor is heading home to Tshwane tomorrow as he plots his next move.

Troughton oversaw a 2-2 draw with champions Bidvest Wits last night and a 1-0 loss to AmaZulu in the league.

The ex-Stellenbosch FC boss took over the reins in July on a two-year deal from Serame Letsoaka, whose contract was not renewed after the side barely survived relegation last term.

One-time Polokwane City mentor Luc Eymael has been linked with the hotseat in Bethlehem.
