Mashaba was released by Sundowns a year ago, with reports suggesting the player’s relationship with head coach Pitso Mosimane had broken down and had reached a point of no return.
The versatile player got an opportunity to impress the bosses at Kaizer Chiefs not too long ago, but he was unable to secure a contract with the Soweto giants. Chiefs currently have Philani Zulu doing well on the left wing, while Godfrey Walusimbi is settling in pretty quickly since he signed from Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia. These are positions Mashaba can play in.
Mashaba has been keeping fit on his own and has been seen at Virgin Active in Midrand on a few occasions.
At age 29, Mashaba still has a lot to offer, but being on the sidelines for too long won’t help him either because the clock keeps ticking.
Other prominent players who are still available for clubs to sign are Sifiso Myeni, Tshepo Gumede, Lehlohonolo Masalesa, Tefu Mashamaite, Travis Graham and Tsepo Masilela.
Myeni recently spoke to snl24.com/kickoff and said he is considering offers on the table.
