Komphela commented on the fan-favourites after the 1-1 Soweto Derby stalemate at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Qalinge got the crowd on their feet at Soccer City when he chest-trapped the ball before lifting it onto his shoulders, then brought it down and continued the play with a sweet touch with his feet.
Pirates coach Eric Tinkler feels such moments of skill have their place in the game, with Komphela accepting it is synonymous with South African football.
"The way Orlando Pirates' wingers play is unique. I have to chose the proper word for that. It's unique and you have to accept it," said Komphela.
"Rakhale is unique in his way of playing. Qalinge has his own unique way of playing. So they have almost the same characteristics and qualities.
"So what you tell defenders, listen focus on the ball. It's the nature of South African football, it's the nature of African football and where there is freedom to express oneself.
"Now as they express themselves you don't get carried away. You focus on what you are here for, which is football. To the extent that if you stay calm and concentrate you will overcome but if you get all over the place, it might be a problem."
