The biggest crowd the Italian has been in front of is around 80 000 when he was still working for Algerian club ES Setif. So as Saturday approaches, Solinas's excitement for what lies ahead keeps growing.
Chiefs have not beaten Orlando Pirates in four years, so the former Free State Stars coach would love to be the man who upsets the Buccaneers.
Tickets are sold out for the clash and now what's left is for players on both sides to entertain the crowd.
"I was in front of 80 000 fans in Algeria with Setif in the Champions League against Esperance de Tunis. But never played before in front of 90 000 fans. So it's a good experience hey, it's unbelievable," Solinas said.
"I want to enjoy this game, very, very beautiful game. It's good for South Africa, it's good for the supporters. This game I hope please no violence. We respect each other. Chiefs try to win, Pirates try to win, but please respect. To win the Derby psychologically is big, the impact is massive.
"In this football players and coaches need balance, mentality balance to keep strong mentally."
Chiefs go into the Derby in third place on the Absa Premiership standings, two points behind the second-placed Buccaneers.
