SuperSport fan: Maybe I'd join Sundowns

In this edition of Supporters Forum, Lebo Malema, the number one supporter of SuperSport United, speaks to KickOff about which club he might support next.

Known by his popular nickname "Bona Fela," the Atteridgeville resident says he will remain loyal to the SuperSport United badge until he feels differently.

"This coming season, I will continue attending PSL games wearing my SuperSport United t-shirt because I believe the club will come back. They will also likely buy the status of another team," he tells KickOff.

"Stan Matthews will find a way to buy a team and name it SuperSport United. For now, I think he is at Siwelele FC to assist the new owner, as they have no one else—just their chairman and the fans."

"So, I'm not joining Siwelele. I will be attending games, starting with the upcoming match between Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City FC, while wearing my SuperSport United attire.

"Out of all the teams that have sold their PSL statuses, SuperSport United is the only team that has won the league, the MTN8, and the Nedbank Cup. We were one of the big four clubs in South Africa alongside Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns. We had a solid structure from the youth development level up to the senior team.

"I doubt there is any team that will win my heart like SuperSport United did. I was recruited to this team by the late Thomas Madigage, which shows the depth of my love for this club.

"Maybe I will consider joining another team after a year or two when my heart tells me to. But for now, I don't think I can spend money on buying jerseys or creating new attire for Siwelele FC or Sundowns."

"Perhaps after a year, I will join Sundowns, so that we can be 58 together, but absolutely not this season. I grew up supporting Orlando Pirates in Limpopo, where I was born and raised, but that sentiment is gone now. I started to dislike that team after they started beating us."
