Majestic numbers for ex-Downs striker

Nyasha Mushekwi keeps on plain sailing in China as he masterminds yet another promotion charge by delivering goals for his employers Yunnan Yukun.

Employed to come and deliver goals which will enhance the promotion ambition, Mushekwi is doing that to perfection.

On Sunday, he was assigned to lead the attack away at Wuxi Wugou in what was his 21st league appearance of the season.

First it was an assist on the half-hour mark, before he then struck twice in a 4-0 win, which widened their lead at the top to seven points.

Mushekwi and his team now need 14 points to secure promotion to the Chinese Super League.

Then for the former Zimbabwe international, he now has 18 league and sits top of the scoring charts in the league. 

The 37-year-old has scored his 18 goals in 21 appearances.

He already has the best strike rate ever recorded at the club and has both the league and club Golden Boot awards in sight.

Mushekwi is now set to surpass the 20 goals that he scored last season for Zhejiang Professional in the Chinese Super League.

Goals have always been part of his game having scored 40 in 53 starts while at Mamelodi Sundowns.
