The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana captain will no longer serve in the role the association following the expiry of his contract.
"I don't know, you can't say yes or no," Tovey tells snl24.com/kickoff when asked if he would consider going back to coaching.
"But I'm coming back home to concentrate on my businesses. Ja, my contract is finished. I had a five-year contract, so when we wanted to renew it we couldn't agree.
"Ja, we couldn't agree on terms, but I was more around going back home. I've done my job. I need to get back home now. I've done my five years and it's been a very successful time for SAFA, I'm happy.
"I'm never satisfied. I'm never that type of person who is satisfied but you just have to look at the history in the last three years how successful SAFA has been and you will see.
"So I'm going back home you know. I've been there five years and it's been the most successful five years, with the teams qualifying for major competitions. Not to say I did all by myself, no.
"I was there to assist technically all the national teams, assist on the coaching induction programmes, assist on youth football, women's football, all the different divisions.
