Thandani Ntshumayelo given hope at SuperSport United

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo has been given another opportunity to try and piece together his career.

Ntshumayelo has returned 'home', having started training with SuperSport United, after being released by Baroka, where he spent the last few months of last season but made just one appearance.

The 29-year-old, who is a product of the Matsatsantsa youth structures, is now continuing his work towards making a full return from his drug ban suffered three years ago.

SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews has since given some insight into the club's plan for the diminutive central midfielder, who has been training under coach Kaitano Tembo since last month.

"He's just training with the club. Obviously, as a former player of ours and an academy graduate, he's landed on some hard times and we've agreed [to let him pick himself up]," Matthews explains to snl24.com/kickoff.

"Look, obviously, if he shows something then we could look at it [possibly signing him], but we didn't agree to him training with us for that reason.

"We just said, 'Come and get fit at the club and see what you can do.' If he does well, why not? I need cover for Dean [Furman] and he would tick that box.

"But at the moment, he's far from being ready. It would be something maybe for January."
