SuperSport United coach explains Lucky Mohomi first-half sub against Kaizer Chiefs

Title-chasing Matsantsansa produced a laboured display in the first half against the out-of-form Chiefs at FNB Stadium and fell behind just before the half-hour mark with Reeve Frosler netting a stunning strike.

Tembo reacted by substituting the on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder five minutes later for Zimbabwe international winger Kudakwashe Mahachi.

"Kuda give us width [tactically] on the left, I think he played very well because he kept on turning Ngezana and put in crosses but overall it wasn't a good game, but I'd take the second-half performance," Tembo explained.

"It was tactical because I thought Lucky wasn't really giving us much legs [in midfield], in terms of energy in terms of our press he was always slow especially to gather the second ball.

"That's why he had to bring Jamie a bit more inside and have an out and out winger like Kuda Mahachi."

SuperSport are now four points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and face Orlando Pirates next at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Wednesday (17h00).
