Pollen Ndlanya: Orlando Pirates lacking confidence in front of goal

Pirates played to their fourth consecutive game without a goal against Bidvest Wits last Saturday, and second goalless draw of the PSL restart.

Having got off to a flyer when new coach Josef Zinnbauher took charge back in December, they are still playing well but not finding the back of the net.

The German coach has even suggested that perhaps top scorer Gabadinho Mhango might need a break in his attacking duties.

"Pirates have quality in the attack, the only team in the league that has top attacking players from Fortune Makaringe to Gabadinho Mhango," Pollen Ndlanya tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"They are just missing chances and that leads to a lack of confidence from the attackers. They had a chance to stop Chiefs but couldn't because of misfiring."

The Buccaneers face relegation-threatened Baroka FC at Emirates Airline Park (Ellis Park) this evening and have a chance to rectify the situation.

'Trompies' believes this can be the game that can revive the Sea Robbers in terms of scoring goals.

"I think they will have a chance to revive themselves, they can use this game to change their fortune," he adds. "Because they really play good football, it's just that they've been lacking confidence."
