Mashaba joined United last season after being rescued from the wilderness by former coach Clinton Larsen.
The ex-Free State Stars defender is now searching for a new club after his contract with the Chilli Boys was terminated by mutual agreement.
United official Wanda Mbenguzana has confirmed that Mashaba is no longer with the club.
"He is no longer with us," Mbenguzane tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I can't reveal the reasons why he was released. It's confidential. You can ask him or his manager."
