Free State Stars coach Solinas relying on Ngcobo following injuries to Fileccia, Sekola

Fileccia, Stars' top scorer this season with six goals, and Golden Boot holder Sekola face lengthy spells on the sidelines after sustaining knocks in a 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on January 23.

Ea Lla Koto subsequently lost 1-0 to SuperSport United on the weekend. And while Solinas praised youngster Sello Jafta for his efforts as a makeshift forward, the Italian expects ex-Bidvest Wits hitman Ngcobo to play a bigger role for the side in the coming weeks.

"Of course I was disappointed with the result, but I’m very proud with the way my players performed. The defeat wasn’t for a lack of effort," Solinas told the club's website.

"Finishing in front of goal remains a concern. Losing our two top strikers was a big blow. We had to turn to the youngster, Jafta, who did well in the circumstances. Now we must try to get Ngcobo back to full match fitness.

"Otherwise I’m very happy with the way the players are responding. We just need to keep working on our finishing."
