Almost immediately after being shown the exit door at Kaizer Chiefs, Philani Zulu has secured a lucrative deal with a fellow PSL club.
Word reaching this website is that Zulu has now agreed to personal terms to join AmaZulu where he is set to replace Sibusiso Mabiliso.
Mabiliso has moved in the opposite direction in a high-profile move to Naturena from AmaZulu.
Zulu will arrive at Usuthu to shore up the void left by Mabiliso on the left flank where he can play either as a defender or in a more advanced role.
In heading to AmaZulu, it is believed that Zulu has requested similar terms to that he was receiving at Chiefs.
He had vastly improved his salary when moving from Maritzburg to Chiefs four years ago and will join now join Usuthu on similar terms.
The 28-year-old spent four years at Chiefs and will feel hard-done-by at his exit after being among the players to feature most regularly in the previous campaign with 36 appearances.
Through his four years at Naturena, he totalled 98 games but was never a regular starter.
His initial signing came at the recommendation of then-coach Steve Komphela who had previously worked with him.
At the time he refused a contract extension at Maritzburg before taking up the offer from Chiefs.
