Former Newcastle United winger Nikodimos 'Nikki' Papavasiliou has opened the door to the possibility of a move to coach in the DStv Premiership after a stint in Egypt.
Papavasiliou spent a year with Wadi Degla in a stint that last lasted until the beginning of last year and is on the market after a brief stay with Cypriot club Nea Salamis.
The 51-year-old is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and has also worked in Greece, Cyprus, and Slovakia.
"I'm available for the next project which has to be right," he tells KickOff.
"I have had talks, via my agent, with different clubs from across the world. There are clubs looking for coaches all over and I follow the PSL because I did the A licence with Gavin Hunt in England plus I'm good friends with Pitso Mosimane from my time working in Egypt where I faced him a few times. I talk to Gavin all the time about the level of competition in South Africa.
"Then I had a good visit some years ago for one tournament.
"So, if the opportunity comes with the right project and I feel it is the right step for me then I will take it. Why not?
"I know there are seven games left in the PSL before the end of the season and I keep up to date with what is happening.
"I know how Mamelodi Sundowns has dominated in the league, and I know there are six other clubs that are competing towards the same level," says Papavasilou from his base in Prague, in the Czech Republic.
The former Cyprus international for Newcastle as a left-winger under Kevin Keegan in the 1993/94 season and was the first Cypriot to ever play in the English Premier League.
