Dove joined Chiefs from UD Songo on a two-year deal with an option of a third year on a contract that improves his earnings from what he was on while at Cape Town City.
The 28-year-old has been brought in by Chiefs to do a job either as a left-footed central defender or at left-back.
AmaKhosi have so far used right-footed players in both of those positions in Zitha Kwinka (left central defence) and Reeve Frosler (left-back).
The other option available for the club at left central defence is Thabani Austin Dube while they also have Sifiso Hlanti.
This website has given an insight into the return of Dove, who last played in the DStv Premiership on December 22 last year against SuperSport United in the colours of Cape Town City.
"He continued training with City until the day he left the club earlier this year.
"Then upon returning to Mozambique he did pre-season training with UD Songo from the word go all the way to when the season started at the beginning of May.
"He featured in all the first six games of the season for UD Songo with Songo winning all those six games.
"So, right now, once all the paperwork is done, he will be ready to play right away as his fitness is up there.
"For now, it is just a paperwork wait and less of fitness issues," says a source close to the player.
Prior to leaving Cape Town City at the beginning of the year, Dove had been a regular at the club after joining from Clube Ferroviario de Maputo.
Dove is only the second ever Mozambican to play for Kaizer Chiefs in the PSL era years after Jose 'Jossias' Macamo.
