Cyril Nzama: Beat Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates for Kaizer Motaung

Amakhosi tomorrow travel to Loftus Versfeld to take on Sundowns before hosting arch-rivals Pirates in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Komphela's charges are under pressure to perform as a 2-1 loss to log leaders Baroka just before the FIFA break left them six points shy of the summit after seven games.

Motaung celebrates his 73rd birthday today, with Nzama wishing the Chiefs patriarch well.

“I would like to wish the chairman many, many years to come,” Nzama told the club's website.

“The team should give him the best possible birthday present by beating Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Then he will be the happiest man.”

Nzama revealed Motaung would often seek his input during his playing days at Naturena. The former right-back was briefly with the Glamour Boys in 1994 before having stints at Rabali Blackpool and Bush Bucks. Nzama returned to Chiefs in 2000 and spent eight seasons with the team.

“The chairman would regularly call me in his office when I was the Chiefs captain,” said Nzama.

“He would ask what is going well and what should improve. He would always look at solutions to the various topics, listening carefully to my input, trying to find a solution to map the way forward.”
