Clinton Larsen targeting top-flight return

Larsen has made his intentions clear after guiding current side Summerfield Dynamos to qualify for the ABC Motsepe national playoffs.

The 51-year-old made the surprise decision to accept a managerial position at the lower division side after being approached by owner Collin Naidoo with the aim of winning promotion to the GladAfrica Championship.

The former Celtic head coach has exceeded expectations by guiding his side to the Nedbank Cup last 16.

"The first target was first to win our stream and then the playoffs," Larsen tells KickOff.

"We've done that part, now it's to do well in the playoffs.

"This team has the potential to compete in GladAfrica Championship. They have the organisation to play in NFD.

"It all boils down to how we perform during the playoffs. So yeah, we are looking forward to going there and competing.

"I think we are the first to qualify and so far so good."

Summerfield Dynamos boasts a wealth of experienced players including former Golden Arrows midfielder Sandile Zule and former Maritzburg United winger Deolin Mekoa.
