Bongi Ntuli staying with AmaZulu with Siphelele Mthembu set to sign

It looks like top striker Bongi Ntuli will stay with AmaZulu at least for this year.

Ntuli handed in a transfer request to Usuthu last month with the intention to move to Gauteng for greener pastures, with the striker having been linked with both SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.

However, the new ownership at AmaZulu appears to have convinced Ntuli to stay at the club at least until the next transfer window, according to sources close to the Durban-based club.

"The new owner has brought new changes at AmaZulu and there are a lot of smiles in the dressing room," a source tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The players now seem excited and motivated to do well for the club this coming season. Bongi is staying for now."

Ntuli's manager Mandla Mthembu would not comment on his client's latest situation at Usuthu and prefers to allow the new owners to settle in.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu appear set to sign former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Siphelele Mthembu after he impressed head coach Ayanda Dlamini at training in the last few weeks.

The 33-year-old has been a free agent since parting ways with Cape Town City in May.
