Sekhukhune United consolidated fourth position in the Betway Premiership after a 2-0 win over AmaZulu on Wednesday evening.
AmaZulu were boosted by the return of Ben Motshwari from suspension alongside the recall of Celimpilo, as two changes from their draw against Golden Arrows while new signing Bongani Zungu made the bench for the first time.
Sekhukhune, meanwhile, drafted in Lesedi Kapinga and Andy Boyeli to the line-up, as the only two changes after a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City.
The game was open in the early exchanges but it was Keletso Makgalwa on 18 minutes who came close for Babina Noko with a strike in the bottom corner plucked out by goalkeeper Richard Ofori.
Lehlohonolo Seema's charges continued to have the better chances as a moment later Daniel Cardoso forced Ofori into another save from a header in the box.
The visitors gained momentum and Boyeli eventually broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time with a strike in the box after he was teed up by Kapinga.
Usuthu came back firing from the break as 11 minutes later Tshepang Moremi came close with a strike that missed narrowly wide.
AmaZulu eventually gave Zungu his debut a moment later in place of Ngema in a tactical move.
The visitors applied the pressure and Zungu came close to levelling matters eight minutes before time with a close-range header that was smothered by goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare.
Sekhukhune waited for their moments and Linda Mntambo eventually killed the game with the second goal in added time with a strike in the box after a through ball by Tshepo Mokoane.
