PLK City extend unbeaten run to 10 matches

TS Galaxy and Polokwane City played to a goalless draw in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday evening.

Rockets were unchanged compared to the team that started Sunday's win over Cape Town City, as Thato Letshedi filled in for veteran Puleng Tlolane on the side of Rise and Shine.

The home team looked to make their intentions clear minutes in courtesy of Kamogelo Sebelebele and Kganyane Letsoenyo, but City weren't fazed.

Galaxy provided more danger later on with Dzenan Zajmovic edging extremely close from a ball by Nhlanhla Mgaga, but fluffed his lines in the end.

Mgaga looked to go on himself right on the half-hour mark, but he unfortunately mis-timed the opening and riffled wide of the top corner.

Rise and Shine came alive and were closest to the lead when a strong left-footed shot by Ayabonga Gwangqa from outside the box nestled the upright.

Introductions at halftime either side saw Puso Dithejane come on for Letsoenyo, while Tlolane stepped on for Letshedi.

Galaxy's dominance from the opening period continued and had a delivery from a set-piece found Sphiwe Mahlangu, who headed over two minutes in the second half.

The Rockets also had a slice of misfortune in pursuit of the lead when a header in the area by Victor Letsoalo come off the face of the post.

Not a large portion of openings on either side were thrown to the fray thereafter, amidst the best efforts either side from Oswin Appollis, Tlolane, and Sebelebele.

The chances continued to come for the respective outfits, but neither capitalised and ended up sharing the spoils.
