Magesi FC gave their survival hopes a massive boost with a 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday evening.
Gift Motupa was dropped from the loss to Kaizer Chiefs and saw Bafedile Baloyi back up top, with Mxolisi Machupu shown a rare start for Richards Bay.
Owen Da Gama's men made the perfect start when Delano Abrahams picked up a layoff from Baloyi and finished from a few yards out.
Kayden Rademeyer looked to double the lead moments later with a shot from outside the box, but he disappointingly fluffed his lines.
Natal Rich Boys struck into a bit of rhythm given the underwhelming period as veteran striker Mxolisi Machupu drew a portion of fouls in promising areas.
Both teams enjoyed chances late on with Yanela Mbuthuma coming close for the visitors before Tlou Masegela snapped a telling opening for Dikwena.
The opportunities didn't stop coming though in the second half least for the Natal Rich Boys who had Tlakusani Mthethwa shave the top corner with a shot from way out.
Abrahams turned up swiftly and looked to grab a brace from a combination with Baloyi, but didn't beat Salim Magoola this time around.
Dikwena conjured up more chances not long thereafter, but Magoola stood tall again and parried Mcedisi Vandala capitalising from way out.
The match became pretty even late on with moments either end, but the host had done enough to collect the win and eased their relegation worries.
