Absa Premiership match report Black Leopards v Golden Arrows 19 January 2019

The visitors, who are unbeaten under new coach Steve Komphela, created a scary moment on 13 minutes when Danny Venter was left unattended to turn on the edge of the box and rattle the crossbar.

A well-worked counterattack nearly led to the opening on goal but Nduduzo Sibiya was denied by strong goalkeeping from King Ndlovu on twenty minutes.

Lidoda Duvha soon sprung to life and almost took the lead in thrilling fashion on 30 minutes, with Mwape Musonda’s overhead kick going over the crossbar.

Five minutes before halftime, Knox Mutizwa was presented with a chance inside the box to get a shot away on the turn that forced Ndlovu to get down for the save.

In the second half, the visiting outfit wasted little effort to get in front after Lerato Lamola showed good strength to beat Ndlovu with a near-post effort.

Abafana Besthede instinctively looked for a second after a shot from Sibiya on the near side forced Ndlovu off his line to make a save.

The home side slowly staged their way back to proceedings as a shot from substitute Lesedi Kapinga flashed across the face of goal, before a good move involving Robert Ng'ambi and Joseph Mhlongo forced Gumede to come off his line and make the save.

With five minutes to play, Leopards pull the monkey out of the bag as Musonda was perfectly positioned to blast home from close-range for a share of the spoils and his eight goal of the season.
