Pirates have already offered R12 million, but Maritzburg have chosen to remain resilient in not dropping their valuation any further.
Kimvuidi will not go down to play in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following Maritzburg's relegation after 15 consecutive years playing in top-flight football.
However, his departure from Maritzburg United will come at a price with the relegated club aiming to pocket millions from his sale.
The Congolese put in a solid shift of 34 appearances for Maritzburg in the 2022/23 season earning top marks despite the KwaZulu-Natal club's relegation.
This was after the 21-year-old arrived at Maritzburg at the beginning of last year from DC Motema Pembe and immediately won the admiration of then coach Ernst Middendorp.
After spending several months only training and not playing official matches, Kimvuidi then got going at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
What he has shown through only a season in the Midlands has given Maritzburg boss Farook Kadodia reason to place his price tag at R15 million.
That valuation has been dropped from R20 million that was initially placed on the dreadlocked midfielder.

Turkish club Alanyaspor – who survived relegation from the top league last season – have identified Kimvuidi as the perfect partner for another Congolese Arnaud Lusamba in midfield.
Lusamba was impressive last season after joining from Amiens SC.
Tunisian club CS Sfaxien are also keen and have been engaged.
Further North African interest has come from the pair of RSB Berkane and Olympic Safi.
RSB were previously coached by Congolese trainer Florent Ibenge and still enjoy the presence of players from the vast Central African country.
The Moroccans are willing to spend but it is unknown if they will stretch their budget wide enough to meet the demands of Maritzburg.
Out in Egypt, Al Mokawloon have made contact and must now turn their interest into a tangible offer.

Interest has also come in from Egypt, Morocco, and Belgium but what will matter will be the offers tabled.
Maritzburg bought Kimvuidi for under a quarter of what they are now aiming to get.
Kimvuidi is currently back home in Kinshasa keeping fit with Les Anges.
Congolese clubs TP Mazembe, AS Vita Club and DC Motema Pembe are monitoring the situation with in the hope of being offered a favourable short term route if all else doesn't work out.
The dreadlocked midfielder is targeting a return to the national team after previously earning caps at youth level and the CHAN team.
