Mkhize backs Bucs to beat the Birds

Former Orlando Pirates striker Phumlani Mkhize feels the worst results the club can get at Orlando Stadium this evening is a draw.

On Tuesday the not so consistent Buccaneers host their old rivals Moroka Swallows at Orlando Stadium in the original Soweto derby.

It is no secret that Pirates' current situation form in the DStv Premiership is worrying their fans.

These two Soweto giants are only separated by two points and three places on the log table.

Swallows are in position six while Pirates are ninth.

"Pirates have a better chance of winning this one, the worse result they will get is a draw," Mkhize told KickOff.

"Swallows are a stubborn team since Steve Komphela took over as their coach. They are playing as a team nowadays.

"Pirates are playing well it's just that they are not scoring goals. That's our biggest problem this season. I think both teams are equal, they are currently on the same level. Yes Bucs can be on top by a mere 15%, but that's only because they have that technical understanding.

"Komphela is very good when it comes to attacking because most of his players rely on pace. He wins some of his games by an odd goal, and on the other side Pirates draw most of their matches," he said.

"As far as current form is concern both teams are equal, so I except them to go for a kill this evening. Yes, alot has changed in this fixture, it was quite big in the past, nowadays Swallows it's only the name that is big.

"But I'm giving this one to Orlando Pirates," for former marksman concluded.
