In this edition of Story Behind My Nickname Orlando Pirates centre-back Nkosinathi Sibisi details how he got his popular nickname "Bhodlela", meaning bottle.
Speaking to Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi in a two-part show called BUCS CAMP: Part 1, broadcasted on SuperSport in October the former Golden Arrows player revealed that the nickname had nothing to do with his defending skills.
"Bhodlela actually came about when I was still at Mangosuthu, doing my first-year," Sibisi said,
"So I had to attend my father's funeral because he passed on in 2014.

"So in our culture or religion you know whenever we attend a funeral or go to church we have to go barefoot.
"Whilst still in the process of the funeral I got a cut from a bottle, So I came back the following day, it was a Saturday.
"We came back on a Sunday, to play a game there at Mangosuthu.
"So the coach is [was] busy saying 'No you starting, starting', I said to him 'No I can't play, I got a cut from a bottle you know,'
"Funny enough a teammate of mine started saying 'Aah this one is a bottle this one', [Laughs].
"So that's how the nickname came about.
"When I came to Swallows I tried to hide the nickname but I don't know where Nkosingiphile [Gumede] got the name from, and he started calling me [Bhodlela].
"So everyone adapted to the nickname, and now I'm affectionately known as Bhodlela."
