With attention shifting away from the Absa Premiership this weekend, the Premier Soccer League have confirmed the details for the MTN8 quarterfinals.
While Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns catch up on missed action and Bidvest Wits go one round ahead in midweek, the league campaign will go on a recess as the first cup competition kicks off on Saturday and Sunday.
Defending cup champions Cape Town City, who ended fourth last season, will get the tournament underway when they host fifth-placed Polokwane City at the Newlands Stadium on Saturday at 15h00.
2018/19 runners-up Orlando Pirates will then welcome seventh-placed Highlands Park to Orlando Stadium at 18h00, before reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns take on Bloemfontein Celtic at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 20h00.
Bidvest Wits, who ended third, will battle sixth-placed SuperSport United at the Bidvest Stadium at 15h00 on Sunday for the final spot in the semifinals of the 2019 MTN8.
