My MTN8 Cup Quarterfinal Best XI

Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu FC are all in the semi-final of the MTN8 Cup.

Mayo says hard work is what influenced his choice of players.

"Hard work goes with talent," He tells KickOff.

"Most of these players proved this weekend they are hard workers.

"You can't separate hard work from talent, most of our players in South Africa have talent but they are not hardworking.

"Discipline also, some their talent is being overshadowed by their lifestyle off the pitch.

"As a sportsman, your lifestyle is very important, you should respect your body and live like a professional.

"Taking your job serious it's what keeps most of these players I have selected here going."

1) GK - Itumeleng Khune: For the fact that he's been out for such a long time and still manages to organise his defence as he did.

2) RB - Khuliso Mudau: He's got pace, engine, he knows when he must attack, and he knows when to defend.

3) LB - Lyle Lakay: His crosses are so accurate.

4) CB - Olisa Ndah: He is reliable and very relaxed in that position.

5) CB - Taariq Fielies: I wonder why his talent is hardly noticed.

6) CM - Andile Jali: He is always playing very well.

7) CM - Themba Zwane: He is the one who makes things happen at Sundowns.

8) CAM - Keagan Dolly: He knows his responsibility.

9) CF - Peter Shalulile: Though he didn't perform up to the standard we've known him for he did very well.

10) ST - Thamsanqa Gabuza: Defense never rest when he is on the field.

11) ST - Khanyisa Mayo: I will put my child on the right. It was his birthday on Saturday and I wanted no other present besides the goal he scored. After he was taken off the team lost. That alone shows AmaZulu were struggling to contain him.
