The 50-year-old tactician departed immediately after last week's first leg 3-0 victory over Chiefs to attend to his 24-year-old son, who was involved in car accident in Nuremberg and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
Hunt has since put the football rivalry aside and sent a message of support to the Pirates mentor as he deals with a difficult situation.
"Firstly, to Josef and his family, they are in my thoughts and prayers. It's not very nice when something [like this happens]," said Hunt.

"I don't know the intricate details of what went down, but I just know it has something to do with his son being in a car accident. So, my thoughts and prayers go out to him and I wish his family well."
With assistant coach Fadlu Davids set to lead the Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon, the second-most-decorated coach in PSL history believes not much will change in terms of their opponents' approach.
"On the football side, I don't think [much will change under Davids] – the structure will be there, I'm sure, he's been there for some time now, so I'm sure the structure is in place," he added.
