Chiefs were dumped out of the MTN8 at the semi-final hurdle by Orlando Pirates, who romped to a 5-0 aggregate victory over the two legs.
Amakhosi have further failed to score in five of their opening six games of the season in the absence of their top striker Samir Nurkovic, while the club is also barred from making any new signings until next season.
This has compounded the supporters' concerns, with some factions already losing faith and calling for the head of one of the most decorated PSL coaches.
"I know, I mean, I know [but] I cannot say publicly what I know. I mean, I know a footballer and I know players, and I know teams and I know [what it takes]," defended Hunt after their Soweto Derby humiliation.
"So, if anybody doesn't [know] or can't see that then... I don't want to elaborate on that. But look, I know what needs to be done but right now we've got to try and do the best we can and ja, there's not much more I can say about that."
Asked what he took from the two fixtures against the Buccaneers, the 56-year-old felt it was a good exercise for the younger players in the squad while opting not to elaborate on the performances of the more senior figures.
"Ja, the younger players got a run in these two games, yes, sure, felt what it's like – obviously didn't feel with the support but felt a little bit what [a Derby] is like and what's required at this level," he commented.
"That's pretty much [it], and obviously knowing what I know without having to watch it."
